The Market Theatre is situated in the town of Hitchin in the county of Hertfordshire, a few miles from Luton and Stevenage.
It is close to the A1 and the M1 and has a good rail link with Kings Cross which is less than 30 minutes away. The centre of London is, depending on traffic, 45 minutes away by road. It is a unique town of around 35,000 people, with a very busy town centre.
It is definately the trendy town of the area, boasting a thriving market, historic buildings and church, numerous bars, pubs and restaurants and two nightclubs. The town has long had a proud dramatic and musical theatre tradition, of which The Market Theatre ts now a large part.
By car: Take the Luton/Hitchin turn from the M1 or the Hitchin turn off from the A1M. Parking is not available at the theatre, but there are car parks situated behind the Sun Hotel, in front of St Mary’s Church and in the Market Square that are all free after 6.00pm.
From Hitchin station it is a 10 – 15 minute walk to town or taxis are available.
