At all other times an answerphone will take your messages and we will return the call within 24 hours. We do not take bookings via phone but if you have any issues with our online system please leave a message and we can call back to assisit.

OUR BOOKING SYSTEM IS NOW OPERATED BY TICKET SOURCE.
ALL TICKETS MUST BE PAID FOR AT THE TIME OF BOOKING AND NO REFUNDS ARE AVAILABLE UNLESS THE EVENT IS CANCELLED BY THE VENUE.
Full Terms and Conditions (updated September 2025)
- Payment is taken on booking and no refunds will be allowed.
- Tickets will be sent via your prefered method (email, text or post) Additional fees apply to tickets sent by text or post.
- For refund enquiries please contact us via email at boxoffice@markettheatre.co.uk.
- Tickets must be presented either by print out or on a mobile device before entering the theatre.
- Every attempt is made to ensure that the show information and prices are correct at the time of going to print with our whats on guide but may be subject to alteration.
- Please note that Concessions (where available) are Wednesdays & Thursdays. (To qualify for a concession you must be under the age of 16, hold a student card or be retired from full time employment)
- Babes in arms under 18 months of age pay £1.00 on selected
performances. All children above this age pay the full ticket price. The Market Theatre reserves the right to exclude babes in arms from certain performances. - The Market Theatre reserves the right to cancel performances due to circumstances beyond its control. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. If cancelled the ticket fee (minus the booking fee will be refunded, unless booking fee protection has been purchased).
- Anyone deemed to be heavily under the influence of alcohol will not be admitted to the theatre. This policy is in place to ensure that all attending enjoy the show. No refunds will be given on this occasion.
- If unforeseen circumstances prevent you from attending a show you have booked, please let us know and we will be happy to move your booking to an alternative performance.
- Please note no dogs are allowed on site (inside or outside) except for guidedogs
- Our Theatre, Courtyard, Props Room Bar and Cabaret Bar are accessible to wheelchair users but due to restrictions with the building unfortunately our Long Bar is only accessible via the stairs. In the event that our ground floor bars are not open please talk to a member of staff who will be happy to get you a drink from upstairs. Please note we do not have a wheelchair accessible toilet.

Terms and Conditions:
– Your booking reservations will be confirmed back to you by email or telephone. However the online booking form does not show current availability.
If tickets are not available for your selected show alternative dates may be offered.
– FOR ADULT PANTO, due to demand, once tickets are confirmed (by phone or email) we will charge you for the number of tickets booked.
IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE ANY CONFIRMATION WITHIN 24HRS PLEASE CALL THE BOX OFFICE (01462 433553)
– Payment can only be made on the door by cash or cheque only. We do not take credit or debit cards.
– Bookings of 16 or more can pay in advance for tickets. To do this please send cash or a cheque payable to the Market Theatre to: The Market Theatre, 6a Sun Street, Hitchin, SG5 1AE. You can pay in person when we are open. (show nights for 1 hour before the show)
– We do not post tickets, they will be available to collect on the night of the performance
– Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable
– Prices are displayed next to the show title.

– SPECIAL NOTICE FOR THE ADULT PANTO: The Adult Panto is a play and not a cabaret, and the audience are asked not to turn up heavily under the influence of alcohol. We would appreciate it if you would kindly inform all in your party of this request so that all may enjoy the show. Thank you for your co-operation.
