Emperors Newd Clothes

If my memory serves me correctly, this adult's only pantomime is not quite so downright filthy as last year's effort and it also seemed to me that the language was toned down slightly. That said, a huge serving of bawdy fun, laced with expletives and the broadest sexual innuendo is still on offer.

Glen Davies is a natural people's performer, embracing the audience with his warm, cheeky confidence from the moment he appears. As the Emperor Binhadup Forit and the slimy henchman Goblem (need I say more?!), Davies relishes every moment, squeezing out all possibilities of a coarse laugh. A whole new meaning is brought to the Lord of the Rings!

Davina Dewrance, as the evil wife Gagging, is unashamedly over-the-top, all waving arms and maniacal cackling but she knows how to deliver a comic line. However, dominating the show with her undoubted charisma is Carrie Laurence, playing the dopey, sex mad Fanny. This girl possesses that rare ingredient of star quality. Buxom, sexy and funny in equal measures, she uses her body in perfect harmony with her supreme comic timing.

Go to this show with a broad mind and a sense of fun and you will have a ball.
